It has been a very eventful show season for us, in 2022. We continued to show our Special, Heathview Falconbridge who acquired his Can. Grand Champion Bronze in September 2021. Points acquired at this point moving forward go towards his Grand Champion Silver title. We started the Show Season going to Portland, Oregon and showed him at the Tualatin Kennel Club Shows where he came home with 6 points towards his American Championship. His success there, inspired us to pursue his American Championship this year. With that, we would be eligible to enter the Westminster Dog Show in New York in 2023 which is on my bucket list to do.
At the end of January, our puppies Talia and Fernando (Abba Song Litter DOB July 31, 2021) turned 6 months old and entered the show ring in the puppy classes. Talia (Heathview I Had a Dream) was awarded her Championship points quickly and became a Can. Ch. June 24, 2022. Her best win was at the ALCA Specialty under Judge: Rita Walker from Ottawa who breeds borzoi’s. She awarded her BOB, BP over the Specials. Fernando (Heathview Winner Takes it All) took BOS for 3 pts as well. We decided to hold off showing Fernando for a time, as Talia and Falcon were taking all our attention. 2023 will be his year to shine.

On February 16, 2021 we had our Keltic Litter born out of Can. GCH. Glor na Gael Eachna bred to Can. GCH Heathview Nellie Belle. We maintained a co-ownership on Heathview Padraig Is Fearr who lives with Brenda Munro in Southern Alberta. Padraig started his show career as a Baby Puppy at the AKC Shows and associated Specialties over the August long weekend. He was awarded Best Baby Puppy at both the Alberta Sporting Hound Association Specialty and the Foothills Gazehound Club Specialty Shows.

The highlight for Falcon over the weekend of July 29th to August 1, 2022 was winning BIS at the Foothills Gazehound Club – 36th Anniversary Specialty Show under Judge Hisayoshi “Ceasar” Kadowaki. He also was awarded BOS under Judge Adrian Landarte at the Alberta Sporting Hound Association.

Currently Falcon’s Top Dog Points Summary for 2022 is : Group 1 x 2; Group 2 x 9; Group 3 x 2 and Group 4 x 1. He has one Specialty BOB for a total of 458 pts. He currently sits as #3 top Irish Wolfhound in Canada.
Between September 8 to October 28, 2022 we went on a traveling road show and mapped out a Dog Show circuit between western Canada and the US. With his current 6 pts towards his American Championship, we hoped to acquire the 2 majors and a total of 15 pts to obtain his American Championship. So we set off. First stop was the IWCC BC Regional Specialty and the IWCC National Specialty.
At the Regional under Kathy Goodell from the UK, Falcon was awarded BOS. Talia was Select Female and Best in Sweeps under Bev Stobart

At the IWCC National Talia took BOS in Sweeps under Laurie Morris.
Falcon took Select Male and Talia took Select Female under Sue Cole, UK .
Next stop was Carson City, Nevada for the Bonanza Kennel Club shows. On Day 1, Talia surprised us by taking WF for her first 3 pt. major and went on to take BOB under Judge Lee Whitter. Falcon was Reserve Winners Dog.
Talia went on to compete in the NOHS Group ring and was awarded Group 4. NOHS stands for AKC National Owner-Handled Series.
On Day 2 Falcon took Winners Dog under Judge Pluis Davern for his first 3 pt. major and BOS. His total points were now 9.

The three Gavilan Kennel Club Shows were held October 7 – 9, 2022 in Morgan Hill, CA. Falcon took WM, BOW and BOB all 3 days. Talia was BOS for all 3 shows.
Falcon and I competed in the NOHS Group ring and were awarded three Group 1 placements by John Ramierez , Lou M. Guerrero and Terri Berrios and a BIS under Terri L. Berrios. That was such a thrill. With that we achieved the NOHS Bronze status with 250 points.

The Northern California Irish Wolfhound Club put on two Specialty Shows October 14 & 15, 2022 in Woodland, CA. On October 14, 2022 under Dr. Lynn Simons. Falcon took WD for his 2nd major. This 5 pt. win, totaled 17 pts for Falcon who acquired his American Championship. Talia took 2nd place in her 12-18 mo. class of 8 competitors.
On October 15, 2022 Talia took Best Senior puppy in Sweeps under Angela Constable and again 2nd place in her class of 8 under Eva Berg. Falcon was awarded BOS under Eva Berg.
It was an exceptional day for Heathview.

Last stop was Santa Rosa, CA for the Del Valle Dog Club of Livermore Shows. Not much love in the ring over those two days, but we were really there for the Memorial for Linda Souza, Limerick IW’s that was lovingly hosted by her family. She was such an amazing lady that we will miss very much.
Now to enter Falcon when Westminster opens LOL
