Sire: Tir N’a Noir O’Marksbay aka Festus
Dam: Heathview Dear Prudence
This litter was inspired by the hit series “The Vikings” given the Norwegian connection of the Sire Tir n’a Noir O’Marksbay.
Our first photo shoot was at 5.5 weeks. The puncture marks on my fingers are proof of how much I dislike trying to take a decent picture at this age.
Litter: Aslaug, Siggy, Rollo, Ragnar and Lagertha
Cdn Gr Ch. Heathview Lagertha
As of August 15, 2016, Lagertha stands #4 Irish Wolfhound in Canada. We are so proud of our home bred girl from the Viking litter born August 22, 2014.
On May 28, 2016 she was awarded Best in Show at the ALCA Sighthound Specialty under Judge Karen Doyle, Mexico. Ian did a wonderful job handling her over the weekend as she also obtained a Group 3 and Group 4 placement at the NACA Shows.
At Evelyn Kenny, Calgary AB July 14 – 17, 2016. I showed Lags to two Group 2 and a Group 4 placement taking her to #2 in Canada. We slipped back to #4 at AKC after competing with a very nice Curian male. Regardless, she showed amazing.
She definitely isn’t just another “pretty face”. We have tried her coursing and she has proven to have a natural talent for the chase. Over the weekend she completed her 3 Chase Ability runs and now has her Chase Ability Certificate. Nothing like watching an Irish Wolfhound take flight. We are planning to enter in the ALCA Lure Coursing Competition September 3 and 4th for her first time. This is so much fun.
We are enjoying the idea of knowing we have met the qualifications to show Lags at Westminster, NY in February 2017. Not sure if we will, but it is sure wonderful to know we could
Lagertha was shown at the IWCC Regional and National Specialties September 15 – 17, 2017.
She was awarded Select Bitch at both Specialties under Judges Roger Tebbut and Ika Peiler. Both were very complimentary of our 3 year old bitch. We are so pleased with this home grown girl. She epitomizes form following function. She is a great athlete and loves the lure. We ran her in her first LGRA straight race at the match and she came in third.

Select Bitch – Ika Peiler
Cdn Champion Ragnar Lothbrok
We entered Ragnar at the BRCA Show in Camrose October 27 – 29, 2017. On Saturday under Judge Barbara Arndt from Ontario, he was awarded Group 2 and 62 breed points. This was the first time back in the ring since September 2016 when we went to PEI to the IWCC National and Regional shows. Rags has matured nicely and we look forward to showing him more in 2018 and using him in our breeding plan with Heathview Melrose in the fall of 2018.
Ragnar went on to be placed with Silvia and Jim Martin in Thunder Bay in the Fall of 2018. 1 year later, September 2019, he developed a lymphosarcoma. Such a tragic loss.
